Hydropump Products
HYDROPUMP is a premium, battery powered backup sump pump system. It is powerful and reliable, yet it is different from other battery backup systems currently available. This pump has features not found in most other backup sump pumps. Since auxiliary backup sump pumps are nearly always at rest, being in or near the water makes them subject to clogging, corrosion, and deterioration. HYDROPUMP is different. It is not mounted in the sump pit, it is mounted on the floor next to the sump keeping it high and dry, always clean and ready to go. In addition to this, we believe we include everything you could possibly need to install your pump, right down to the last screw, clamp, pipe, and fitting. If it isn't in the box, you probably don't need it unless you have a very unusual situation. Even then, our Customer Service Department will try to help if you call. The only extra item you need to buy is the battery, which you will be able to obtain locally.
Some backup sump pumps are installed quite high in the sump pit because the mounting position is determined by the discharge pipe for the main pump. This makes it nearly impossible for the backup pump to effectively empty the pit. It often tends to run in very short cycles and usually fails to bring the water level below the drain tiles that run under the basement floor. HYDROPUMP uses a suction pipe that goes all the way to the bottom of the sump pit. This assures an effective removal of water from the pit and the drain tiles.
Improper positioning of the backup pump float with relation to the pump position can also cause the pump to malfunction. It may be set to go on properly when needed, but then fail to turn off because the water level cannot be lowered enough to turn the pump off. The pump may then run non-stop until it wears out the battery. The HYDROPUMP float can be adjusted easily and accurately because of the use of the suction pipe. This allows the swing of the float to be wide enough to achieve full "pump down" to the bottom of the pit.
When a backup pump is installed immediately above the main pump, and most are installed exactly this way, the check valve that is needed below it is only inches away from all the pressure and turbulence from the main pump impeller. As a result, the check valve itself often becomes broken inside or develops a hole in it. When the day arrives that the backup pump has to go on, instead of removing water, it simply recycles it back down through the damaged check valve and the basement floods! HYDROPUMP is connected to the main pump discharge pipe 3 - 4 feet above that turbulent point and comes complete with its own, high quality check valve. By the time the water reaches that point, it is running smoothly through the pipe and causes no damage to the check valve.
Installation is a breeze and we include everything you should need except the battery. We recommend a 12 Volt Marine Deep Cycle Battery, or Sealed Lead-Acid Battery, available locally throughout the country.

Professional Model backup sump pump uses a 110 Volt, 1/3 Horsepower sump pump that sits on the basement floor, keeping it high and dry until needed, to remove water from the sump. Connected to a Power Inverter, it automatically operates off two Deep Cycle Marine Batteries. The inverter takes the DC power provided by the batteries and converts it to 110 Volt power for use by the pump. A high capacity battery charger keeps the batteries in a fully charged condition and has a light monitoring system to alert you to the batteries' condition. This is the complete, professional quality, high capacity backup sump pump system for your home. Because of the high efficiency of this pump unit, the Hydropump PH 3500 can operate for 2 - 5 days or more, depending on how often it has to cycle.
